Barek, my aussie friend. Street art from down under.

I hooked up with Barek over Facebook, so now we are friends (-:

Well, maybe not so much yet, but I’ve got high aspirations and I really like his stuff.

Barek makes some really nice little paste-ups, often combined with other organic or fitting materials to give them a bit more 3D effect. And he has an uncanny talent for finding cool little spots and tailoring his works of art to them.

I asked Barek, if he would tell me a little bit about himself and send me a handful of his favorite pics – and he did…

Here’s what Barek has to say about himself on just a few lines and  a selection of his works. I hope he comes to visit us in Europe soon.

“…I live in Brisbane Australia.
I mainly do paste ups (wheat paste), but also draw and paint and make/swap stickers (mine are all hand drawn).
Hoping for a solo show next year, but I love making art!!! All art! I do ‘street art’ because I want my art seen my lots of people, when hung in a home only a few people will ever get to see it but my art is for everyone. Have been ‘on the scene’ only a couple of years, first only stickers then onto stencils then paste ups, my current love.

I like my paste ups to be different. most are flat, square/rectangle and well, kinda dull, overdone maybe.. I make mine different sizes and shapes and always hand drawn/handmade. I never photocopy anything, everything is one off
I do sell my drawings and canvases…”
